How peace in syria can be resolved?

Syrian civil war started in March 2011, as a result of protest against the rule of president Bashar al-Assad. Now this conflict has entered its 6th year and many think tanks and analysts are presenting their opinions on how to solve this conflict and prevent more bloodshed. How it all started: It all started in 2011 in the Syrian city of Deraa. The protest started when the police arrested 15 school boys and tortured them for drawing anti government graffiti on the walls. The protests were peaceful in the beginning; they demand the release of the children, democracy and greater freedom for people in the country. The government responded angrily and, on 18 March 2011, the army opened fire on protesters, killing four people. The next day, they shot at mourners at the victims' funerals, killing another person. People were shocked and angry at what had happened and soon the unrest spread to other parts of the country. Civil war: The protesters only demanded democracy...

Year 1986, a boy is born in Jibran’s family. Both Jibran and Gulshan are celebrating the birth of their legacy and praying for his bright future until there is a knock at their door. A bunch of eunuchs are standing outside. Thinking that someone from the neighbours have send them to celebrate the birth of their son he let them in. The eldest of them step forth and takes the baby from Gulshan’s arms and begin to look at him. He tells Hussain’s parents that they should give the baby to them because he belongs to them. Hearing this Jibran gets really angry and snatches the baby from them and pushes them towards the door and warns them to never show their faces again or else he will kill them all. THEY DON’T THINK THEY’RE REAL

Always on the run, Always on the go, They don’t think they’re real. Changing their face, changing their name, Deceiving others with such grace, They don’t think they’re real. Far away from reality, Yet they see the world with such clarity, They don’t think they’re real. With magic in their hands and pride on their minds, But still they control from behind, They don’t think they’re real. Let the veil be removed, and see the world how it moves, Shatter this shackle, Remove this fetter, You’re real, you’re real! You don’t need to hide behind; you’re brighter then sunshine, You’re real, you’re real!

THE WOMAN

She woke up with a sudden jerk; covered in sweat she patted her forehead. She was having the same dream that she had been having since she was 6. "The woman...!" She thought to herself. "Who is she? Why do I always dream about her?" She got up from her bed and went to her study table, took a piece of paper and started writing something down... "She with every dream she is getting nearer and nearer to me. It’s like she wants to tell me something. Now I can see her even when I am fully awake. I can hear her voice along with several other voices telling me to do stuff. Why is this happening to me? Should I talk to mum about it? But I don't want to cause her any trouble. My presence is already a big problem for her. I don't see her smile after dad left us and she got married to Joe. I always thought she loved him and he loved her then why do they fight all the time. Sometimes it gets so loud in here that I have to hide under my bed. I know that mum and Jo...

Not every unusual thing is paranormal

A few days back I liked a facebook page that used to post different paranormal events that were shared by their followers. After visiting that page daily I realized that we specially the people of indo-pak region have been really influenced by the horror movies. For instance, I read a story in which a woman told her incident that she fought with a lost evil spirit of a woman who was killed by her in-laws when she was pregnant and now she wanted the child of the woman who is the narrator of this incident. I mean really? Were you dreaming that or do you really believe that happened to you?!! Oh in another case a guy literally had a sleep paralysis and everyone in the comments were telling him about it but he was in a constant denial that he was attacked by a ghost. Yeah right!! I have never tied up my hair before I go to the roof of my house nor I have ever spent a day without using a perfume and I have been home alone for really long time and I sleep alone at night but by the grace of...

Seven years into the war!

Seven years into the war, Seven years are long enough! Long enough to finish seven generations, Long hard sleepless nights, please someone hear my sighs! Long enough to go deaf, with all the noise we've heard all our lives, Seven years are long enough, Long enough to realise, who we are and with whom we fight! Long enough between those cries, that haven't been answered by any allies! Look into those innocent eyes, what have they done to deserve this demise. They took my parents away from me, And now I pray for their ease! Seven years away from peace, now we think this is our life! Oh dear God! Hear my plea, I wish no harm, Just save me!

Impact of modernization on Pakistani society

Modernization is defined as a synonym for westernization. As the media have boomed in Pakistan the westernization process have increased drastically. But before the strong emergence of media the seed of  modernization was ploughed by the British rule in subcontinent. The changes that took place in subcontinent many years ago still exists are growing stronger and stronger everyday due to the need to be like the developed countries. Aspects of pakistani society that have been effected by modernization: 1) Occupation and advancements in occupation. 2) Government system 3) Culture 4) Status of women 5) Infrastructures 6) Media advancement Occupation and advancements in occupation: It is known worldwide that Pakistani society is predominantly an agricultural society. But with the modernization this occupation has evolved. This is the result in advancement in techniques of cultivation which were started by western countries to enhance the growth of crops and to create new spec...

White backed Vultures - wiping out! What’s next?

White backed vultures scientifically known as Gyps africanus were commonly seen in Pakistani skies are now on the edge of extinction. They are known as white backed because of the ash white marking on their back with a long pink bald neck and head along with a powerful beak. They can grow up to 10 meters tall and their wingspan is 180 to 210 cm wide and can weigh up to 7 kilos. These magnificent birds feed on the carcasses of dead animals hence proven as the cheapest way to keep the environment clean.  “Vultures are ecologically important because they consume dead animals and clean the environment.”- World wildlife fund (WWF) In some cultures like Tibetan Buddhist they feed their dead to these birds because they believe that when the spirit is gone there is no need to preserve the body and the body should go back to the nature it is known as “sky burial”.  In Pakistan these birds used to roam the skies but since 1990 there has been a decline in their number, mostl...

Why measure success in coins?

People laugh behind my back at my work thinking my work is useless because I am not earning anything from it. Why would you put your efforts in something that can't pay your bills. Right? That's what I thought for a second when someone told me about someone laughing at our blogs. When this world was blessed with early civilizations were there any programmers or archeologists or neurosurgeon or TV hosts? These professions are created because someone was interested in playing with different chemicals, mixing them and then there were people who called them idiots and useless because they were not earning anything from what they were doing. They created these amazing technologies and techniques by which we can further create more things. In my opinion people who call other people's interests and passions useless and measure their goals in money are the descendants of the same people who called all the inventors and discoverers/explorers idiot and useless. Does anyone know or r...

The other side of mirror.

My mother sitting on a couch talking about her day and here I am busy in the world that doesn't exist in reality. What is reality? Honestly, I don't even know that anymore. We have created an alter ego online that is shouting its lungs out about how insecure we are about ourselves and how unstable our relations have become with the real world! Who are we? What is the purpose of our existence? What is our value in this endless universe? My answer would be "we are here to serve a greater purpose then publishing our lives online". Some of you might ask " what is that greater purpose?" To that I will say "the greatest purpose of our existence is to be humans not characters of some stimulation game". Humans are the most advance and civilized mammals, who are in a constant need of emotional support, love, care and protection of each other and they have a constant hunger for knowledge. So happened why have we stopped caring about each other? Where is...

A new stranger

Today, as I was fighting over a facebook post with a stranger, a message pop-up. Bing! A new friend on Facebook was waving at me. I started the debate about how badly the people of my country are in need of good education. Since they are accusing ghosts and magic for every unusual event. He just asked me what I was doing to create awareness. I told him I was shaking everyone's minds to wake them up but I wasn't doing enough because I am afraid that people will accuse me of not being loyal to my religion (in my country it is a matter of life and death) and a mob of illiterate people will kill me and I don't want to get killed by illiterate people. If people have to kill me then they should form a mob of philosophers. As I was jokingly telling him all that he began to tell me the deepest parts of his life (which i really appreciate him as it have changed me as a person). I have promised him that I won't spill his secret so I am not going to do that but I will say that th...
